True Story | Britnee Webb Cosmetics

Posted on by Britnee Webb

Welcome to BWC. Part 2. I say part 2 because I didn't get to this point without a little bit of struggle. A million second guesses, trials and errors, with some good things along the way too. Hi, my name is Britnee Webb. I've been a licensed cosmetologist for 13 years. Hair and makeup is in my blood and soul. My grandmother is still a hairdresser to this day, in her 70's. I grew up playing in salons, and in a cosmetology school, while she was an instructor and my mother a receptionist at the front desk in the evenings. Two of my aunts went to beauty school, several of my cousins. It's just what we do. I've spent this part of my career behind a chair with my incredible clients, working behind the scenes at runway shows, including Utah Fashion Week with one of this season's Project Runway contestants, one year our whole salon worked at Sundance, photoshoots, and just recently signed with Moda Talent Agency.

I decided last year to launch a cosmetic company. So I did. I was so proud, and my loved ones were proud of me. They supported me by purchasing my products, but that was all who did. No one else bought it. I put my heart and soul into marketing, built two websites, advertised my butt off, and nothing was selling. The products were excellent, I couldn't figure out why! I was doing everything right! I even spent hours handmaking my labels, creating collections, hand curating my palettes, everything.

Then recently, it dawned on me. It wasn't ME. I wasn't being true to myself. I had it named something random, that people had to keep asking me how to pronounce, and how to spell, why I chose the name (in truth it was part of my kid's names together, but that didn't make it any easier for them to pronounce). But it didn't tell my story, it didn't say ME. It wasn't working or clicking with anyone, the universe, consumers, what have you, because I wasn't being honest. I wasn't being the one thing that the energies of this world ask of us- TRUE.

So here I am-relaunching. Renaming. Revamping. Rebirthing. Beginning again, but right this time. TRUE this time. Honest. My only hope is that you can feel this with my products, and that they make you feel your most beautiful, true YOU.

BE TRUE. STAY TRUE.
